INDORE: Humiliating defeat of Congress party in just concluded assembly election in Madhya Pradesh has earned former chief minister of state and Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh many critics and opponent in his own party, but on Thursday Singh gets support from unexpected quarter.
"Digivijaya Singh is a very good organizational man and Congress was defeated in the state so badly only because he was sidelined in the assembly election process by his party," said heavyweight BJP leader and minister in previous government Kailash Vijaywargiya.
Interestingly, leader of Congress party in state are holding Digvijaya Singh responsible for the defeat of the party and some of the leaders have even demanded for his ouster from the party.
"If Digvijaya Singh was ousted from Congress then we will ask him to join BJP. We will make better use of his skills," said Vijaywargiya adding that Congress party do not make better use of Singh in the election and that lead to their bad performance.
Taking a dig at union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, who was made chief of election campaign committee of Congress in MP, Vijaywargiya said he was give responsibility bigger than his capability.
"Scindia was not capable enough to lead the Congress party in state and result of assembly election is proving it," said Vijaywargiya.
On role of Modi factor in impressive win of BJP in the assembly election, Vijaywargiya said chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Narendra Modi together is responsible for historic win of party in the just concluded assembly election. "Shivraj Singh Chouhan is 'Robin hood' for rural population, women and farmers, while Narendra Modi is 'Robin hood' for urban population and youth," said Vijaywargiya.
