Giving credence to unverified claims by a local religious leader that the Holy Quran had been desecrated - already dismissed as "false and baseless" by BSF - Saeed said "this terrorism further proves that there can be no friendship, trade whatsoever until Kashmir issue is resolved".
"These atrocities on Kashmiris in this sacred month of Ramadan should immediately stop. World community should not remain oblivious," he noted in another tweet. However, Hafiz's tweets could not reach his target audience in J&K as internet services were suspended in the state.
Exhorting Pakistan prime minister Nawaz Sharif to take a strong stance on J&K, Saeed on Thursday tweeted that Kashmiris had always looked upon Pakistan to represent their case in the world.
Saeed was the prime mastermind behind the 26/11 attacks and many other LeT strikes. He figures high on India's most-wanted list, but Pakistan has refused to act against him saying that the evidence submitted on his role in 26/11 attacks is not "credible". Pakistan has also declined to ban Jamaat ud Dawah, saying it is a charitable organisation engaged in "social work". Saeed, thus, not only remains a free man but regularly spews venom against India from public platforms in Pakistan and on social media.
As if Saeed's anti-India propaganda was not enough, even the JuD joined him on Thursday in condemning the "Indian forces" over today's incident. "India at utter mistake in hoping to suppress Kashmiris...as world sleeps, they continue to 'kill' innocents," JuD tweeted.
