Vasundhara Raje, Chief minister in her budget speech 2014-15 had promised to get helicopter and other services to the intra-state religious places and tourist spots.
At the state secretariat principal secretary,civil aviation Ajeet Kumar Singh signed an MOU with CEO of OIS aerospace private limited(aviation company) BL Thakral to start the service soon in the state.
"Our aim is to facilitate air passengers in getting connectivity to the religious places and tourist spots where there is no air connectivity.Thus, for these places the said company will provide helicopter and other services. The modalities on the fares and packages would be worked out soon," said a senior officer with the government.
The state as 16 airstrips which are not been utilized properly and the state government is aiming at developing them.
"With this facility many of our religious spots including Beneshar Dham, Khatu Shyam Ji, Salasar Balaji and others will have a direct air connectivity," the officer added.
Officials further stated that from the state capital Jaipur there is no direct connectivity to various destinations. "With this facility there would be a intra state air connectivity to various places. The company will provide helicopter and smaller aircraft to the air travelers," said an official.
This will also boost educational and industrial activities within the state. During the course the state government will also make a proper plan to fully develop the underutilized air strips in the state. "There are many air strips which are merely been used by the government officers on their official trips. With this kind of facility we can send the tourists to these places where the national and international airlines operators are not plying," said a tour operator based in Jaipur.
