FEROZEPUR: An alleged Pakistani intruder was shot down by the BSF along the India-Pakistan border in the Ferozpur Sector of Punjab, officials on Saturday said.

The incident took place last evening when the suspected intruder was trying to sneak into the Indian side amid heavy rains being received in the area for the past few days, a senior BSF official said.

No recoveries have been made from the suspect, as the BSF official added that he was challenged to surrender before the BSF personnel opened fire on him.

The intruder, who seemed to be in his mid twenties, however, could not be identified, they said.

BSF jawans on patrol duty spotted the intruder while he was trying to cross the barbed wire fencing near Border Out Post (BOP) Ulloke in KMS Wala area.

Later, the body was handed over to the police.
