While one youth died on the spot, his sibling sustained grievous head injury and is been treated at MGM hospital in CBD-Belapur. The incident took place on Monday at around 11.30am.
The deceased youth has been identified as Matin Abdul Kadir Kazi (18), who was declared dead before admission to the hospital, while his injured brother is Mutalik Abdul Kadir Kazi (21), who has sustained multiple blood lacerated wound to the head.
He has been admitted to the ICU and has been sent for a CT scan, informed the staff at the MGM hospital's casualty department. They are residents of Kharghar.
Panvel GRP constable Rajaram said, "The elder brother was pursuing training at a Shipping company in CBD-Belapur and his younger brother had accompanied him. They had boarded the local train at Kharghar to reach CBD station. However, when the train reached near Belpada, one of the brothers lost balance and fell off the train but the other brother in order to save him went to catch hold of his hand but he too lost balance and both brothers fell on the tracks. One was killed and the other sustained grievous head injuries. The injured brother is conscious and out if danger. He has been taken for a CT scan to diagnose whether he had sustained internal bleeding."
