AAP and Railgate reasons behind my defeat, Pawan Bansal says

CHANDIGARH: Minutes after losing Chandigarh seat in parliamentary elections, former Union railway minister and sitting MP, Pawan Kumar Bansal, accepted that infamous Railgate scam can be one of the reasons apart from AAP behind his defeat.

"There was consistently one year long campaign against me in the connection of Railgate scam, in which I got clean chit, and even Narendera Modi had taken this issue in his election rally held in Chandigarh days before the elections. It damage my image in Chandigarh", Bansal said.

Surrounding with party workers and leaders at his residence, Bansal further maintained, "AAP has definitely damaged congress vote bank in the city. AAP damaged my vote bank among youngsters, villagers and colonies of Chandigarh. Even in rehabilitation colonies, my performance was not good than AAP."

Bansal, two times MP from Chandigarh Lok Sabha seat, take his moral responsibility for the party's defeat in Chandigarh and also congratulated BJP's winning candidate, Kirron Kher. When asked any introspection on the defeat, Bansal claimed, "It will be happen in coming days."
