Jitin emphasized on importance of education in overcoming economic disparities and communal bias. "We are committed to provide education to every Indian child. This will be the only way to overcome caste, gender and religious disparities. Good education to all paves the way for equal opportunities for all and takes away the perception of favouritism," he stressed.
British high commissioner to India, James Bevan urged the Indian government to improve the higher education standards amongst women as well. "Many families can afford higher education of only one child. Most often the boy gets that preference. That's where the government should focus," he urged. The conference also had Baroness Sandip Varma, member of House of Lords and a junior minister at Department of Energy and Climate Change who is on a official tour to India laud the emphasis of HRD ministry on girl education in her address and pledged all possible governmental support from the UK government.
