According to the forum, Samajwadi Party (SP) supremoMulayam Singh Yadav has dented the communal harmony of the state by banning the 84-KosiParikarmaYatra of VHP.
"In fact, VHP should have been allowed to carry on its parikarma yatra,'' professor Razaullah Khan of the forum was quoted as saying, while presiding over a meeting of Forum for Muslim Studies & Analysis (FMSA) Aligarh at media centre Aligarh, recently.
Khan pointed out that only 200 sadhus were expected to participate in the parikarma but by banning it, the Akhilesh government has turned the atmosphere of state in favour of VHP.
Secretary of the forum, Jasim Mohammad too said that on the one hand, Mulayam Singh Yadav is sharing tea with VHP leaders and on the other hand, he is banning its parlikarma yatra. He said that this drama of 'Noora-Kushti' was pre-planned but the real face of SP has been exposed otherwise — why did the Akhilesh government fail in talking action during the 19 riots that took place in the state?
The forum said that the Hindus of the state are peaceful and if the yatra was not banned then nothing could have happened. It pointed out that religious rights are a fundamental part of the Constitution and everybody should be allowed to perform them. The forum said SP has tried to mobilize its vote bank by banning the yatra but Muslims have understood gameplan of Mulayam Singh Yadav.
